Effects of DIRAS3 and p53 re-expression on the interaction of 4E-BP1 with eIF4E. a, b. Cancer cells were treated with Ad-DIRAS3, rAd-p53, and their combination for 24 h. Ad-GFP was used as a negative control. Whole cell lysates were collected and subjected to western blotting. The expression of Akt, p-Thr308-Akt, and p-Ser473-Akt in CAL-27 and SCC-25 cells was examined (a). The levels of 4E-BP1, p-Thr37/46-4E-BP1, p-Ser65-4E-BP1, p-Thr70-4E-BP1, and eIF4E in CAL-27 cells were also analyzed (b). c. Cell extracts were immunoprecipitated with an anti-4E-BP1 antibody. The interaction of 4E-BP1 with eIF4E in CAL-27 cells was evaluated by measuring the amount of eIF4E in the immunoprecipitates by Western blotting. 4E-BP1 was used as a loading control
